Vera Ivanova a composé des œuvres symphoniques, de musique de chambre, pour chant, pour piano, ainsi que des pièces électroacoustiques qui ont été jouées en Europe et ailleurs. Elle a étudié la composition, la théorie musicale et le piano à Moscou de 1984 à 1995, et la composition avec Roman Ledenyov au Conservatoire d’état Tchaikovsky de Moscou de 1995 à 2000 où elle a été diplômée avec distinction. Bénéficiant de la bourse Gwyn Ellis Bequest, Vera Ivanova a ensuite poursuivi des études de composition avec Allessandro Timossi à la Guildhall School of Music and Drama à Londres (RU) en 2000-2001 et y a obtenu son master avec distinction. C’est enfin avec la bourse Sproull qu’elle étudie la composition avec David Liptak à la Eastman School of Music à Rochester (ÉU) depuis 2003. Vera Ivanova a obtenu une mention honorable au Concours international de musique et d’art sonore électroacoustiques de Bourges et le troisième prix au Concours Mozart à Salzbourg (2001). Plus récemment, elle a reçu une distinction aux ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Awards. Elle a également obtenu le Hanson Orchestra Prize de la Eastman School of Music (2003, pour Variations on Chords: distances for large orchestra). Sa musique a été jouée en Autriche, en République Tchèque, aux Pays-Bas, au Portugal, en Russie, au RU et aux ÉU. |

Vera Ivanova graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in 2000 with the Honours Diploma in Composition and in 2001 from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with the Master of Music degree with distinction in Composition. At present she is pursuing a PhD in Composition at the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, NY, USA). Among her compositions are orchestral, theatrical, chamber, and electroacoustic works, which have been performed in Russia, Europe and the USA (Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Weill Hall in New York). Vera Ivanova is a recipient of numerous international prizes, awards and scholarships, among them are the Sproull Fellowship towards PhD studies at Eastman, the Gwyn Ellis Bequest Scholarship towards MMus studies at Guildhall School, Moscow Culture Committee grant, Honourable mention at the 28th Bourges Electroacoustic Competition, and 3rd Prize at the 8th International Mozart Competition including publication with Universal Edition (Vienna). Among her recent achievements are the 1st Prize at Métamorphoses 2004 Biennial Acousmatic Composition Competition, the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Award, and the Hanson Orchestra and Louis Lane Prizes from the Eastman School of Music. |
